The Pakistani nationals will be returning to the country on September 3. The Pak-India border is being opened temporarily to allow their return. It was closed in March as Pakistan scrambled to contain the coronavirus outbreak.
Pakistanis in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Delhi and Rajasthan were stuck due to the lockdown and are now being brought back due to the efforts of the Pakistani High Commission.
As of August 31 afternoon, there are 295,849 reported coronavirus cases in Pakistan and 6,294 deaths. A total of 280,682 people have recovered. India has reported over 3.5 million cases and 62,000 deaths.
