The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday dismissed a petition which had sought to bar prime minister’s advisor on finance Abdul Hafeez Sheikh from presenting the federal budget in the National Assembly.
As per details the petition was heard by Chief Justice IHC Justice Athar Minallah.
During proceedings, the petitioner maintained that Abdul Hafeez Sheikh could not present the budget, to which Justice Minallah asked where it was written in the rules who could present the budget.
Justice Minallah told the petitioner that he should have been prepared and such petitions should not be submitted in court.
The petition was termed untenable and dismissed.
