
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will meet visitors arriving at his Jati Umra residence to extend condolences over his wife Begum Kulsoom’s death today, said spokesperson for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said the former premier will meet the people visiting his residence from 4pm to 6pm on Thursday.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and family members have been arriving at the ex-premier’s Jati Umra residence since last night to extend condolences.
Security has also been tightened around Jati Umra and traffic wardens have been deployed to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
Earlier on September 12, Mian Nawaz Sharif was unable to meet people visiting his residence to extend condolences over his wife’s death as doctors advised him to take rest after his health condition deteriorated.
“Hamaz Shehbaz, Salman Shehbaz and Asif Kirmani met the guests in Jati Umra.
On the other hand, the Namaz-e-Janaza (Funeral prayer) of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, will be offered today (Thursday) in London’s Regent Park mosque.
PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif and other family members reached London on Wednesday night to attend the funeral and bring Kulsoom’s body back to Pakistan.
A PIA flight carrying the casket will fly from Heathrow airport at 10pm today. It will land in Pakistan on Friday at 6am after which a second funeral prayer will be held at Jati Umra in the evening.
Kulsoom will be laid to rest the same day beside the grave of her father-in-law Mian Sharif at Jati Umra.
Renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel will lead the funeral prayers of former First Lady Begum Kulsoom Nawaz at Sharif Medical City, Jati Umra.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (MPA) Mirza Javed while talking to media here Wednesday said, “Maulana Tariq Jameel will lead the funeral prayers of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.”
Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of the former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif, passed away at London’s Harley Street Clinic on Tuesday after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Heartbreaking moment was witnessed upon Shehbaz Sharif’s arrival at Nawaz’s residence in London as Hussain Nawaz, the elder son of former prime minister broke down in tears and hugged his uncle to mourn the death of his mother.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday night arrived in London to bring back Begum Kulsoom Nawaz’s body to the homeland.
Shehbaz had departed for London via a foreign airline from the Allama Iqbal International Airport early on Wednesday to bring back the body of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.
Earlier, talking to media at the Heathrow Airport, Shehbaz said that Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz are in great pain over the sad demise of former First Lady, adding; “May Allah give courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
To a question, Shehbaz said that he submitted the parole request on behalf of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz as they had refused to file a request for their release on parole to attend the funeral prayers of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.
